Abstract

One of the problems faced by the development of population and family planning is the unmet need for family planning. The coverage of active family planning participants in Indonesia in 2017 was 63.22% and in Jambi Province it was 78.09%. The number of Unmet Need for Family Planning in Jambi Province is 81,462 (11.67%). In Merangin Regency, the coverage of active family planning participants in 2018 was 53,212 (74.39%) and the number of Unmet Need KB was 1,932 (2.7%). In Langling Village, active family planning participants are 67.3%. Data obtained in 2020 from 302 PUS there are 253 active family planning (83.77%) and the number of Unmet Need KB as many as 49 people (16.33%).

This research is a quantitative analytic study using a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all women of childbearing age in Langling Village, Bangko District, Merangin Regency in 2020, as many as 302 people and a sample of 75 people. This study was analyzed by univariate and bivariate with a significance level of 95% with the help of SPSS software version 21.0 .

This study shows that there are 26 (34.7%) respondents who have higher education and 49 (65.3%) respondents who have low education. The role of PL-KB officers who supported was 38 (50.7%) respondents and 37 (49.3%) were less supportive. Culture that has an effect on family planning is 50 (66.6%) and 25 (33.4%). The results of educational statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained a P-value of 0.012, the role of PL-KB officers with a P-value of 0.001 and Culture with a P-value of 0.010.

There is a relationship between women's education, the role of Family Planning Officers and Culture with the occurrence of Unmet Need for Family Planning in Langling Village, Bangko District, Merangin Regency in 2021. It is hoped that Family Planning Field Officers (PLKB) can increase the provision to every woman aged couple fertile, providing counseling, and increasing promotion of contraception so as to reduce the number of Unmet Need for Family Planning.
