PENGARUH PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN DENGAN PERILAKU REMAJA TENTANG INFEKSI MENULAR SEKSUAL DI SMA NEGERI KOTA SAROLANGUN

Abstract

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016 stated that there were more than 1 million people suffering from Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) every day (Who, 2016). Data from the Jambi Provincial Health Office 2019, it is known that the highest number of cases for the incidence of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in Sarolangun Regency occurred in adolescents as many as 45 cases, from these data cases at the age of 14-16 years amounted to 13.3%, aged 17-24 years amounted to 62.2%, aged 25-49 years amounted to 24.4%. Research objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between health education and adolescent behavior regarding sexually transmitted infections. Research method: This study is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental design with a control group pretest-posttest design. 68 respondents were given health education. This research was conducted in March-August 2021 at SMA 1 Sarolangun. Analysis of research data used univariate analysis, bivariate with Mann Withney test and Manova test. Results: The results of the bivariate test of the knowledge variable showed that the use of extension had an average value greater than that of health education (13.12 > 12.63) with a P-value of 0.011 (P-value <0 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the provision of health education has an effect on adolescent behavior about sexually transmitted infections.
