HUBUNGAN PEKERJAAN IBU DAN STATUS EKONOMI DENGAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSLUSIF DI KELURAHAN DUSUN BANGKO WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PEMATANG KANDIS TAHUN 2025

Abstract

One indicator of a nation's health status is the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), which remains
highly relevant for assessing the health status of developing countries like Indonesia. According
to the 2015 Inter-Censal Population Survey (SUPAS), the IMR in Indonesia was recorded at
22.23 per 1,000 live births. This study employed a quantitative design with an analytical
approach and was conducted in Dusun Bangko Village (within the service area of the Pematang
Kandis Community Health Center) from October 13 to 20, 2025. The study population consisted
of all mothers with infants aged 7–12 months, totaling 76 individuals. Sampling was carried out using a cross-sectional method. A questionnaire served as the research instrument, and the
data were analyzed using bivariate analysis. Statistical test results indicated a significant
association between economic status and exclusive breastfeeding (calculated X² 34.293 ≥ table
X² 5.991) in Dusun Bangko Village, but no significant association between maternal
employment and exclusive breastfeeding (calculated X² 5.28 < table X² 5.991) in the same area.
There is a significant association between economic status and exclusive breastfeeding,
whereas there is no significant association between maternal employment and exclusive
breastfeeding.
