PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN MELALUI VIDIO ANIMASI TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN SADARI PADA SISWI SMA NEGERI 10 SAROLANGUN TAHUN 2024

Women have the highest risk factor for developing breast cancer. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 95% of breast cancer cases occur in women. Currently, many breast cancer patients are found at a young age, and quite a few teenage girls as young as 14 have been diagnosed with breast tumors, which can become cancerous if not detected early. To date, breast self-examination (BSE) remains an effective method for early detection of breast cancer. This study aims to determine the effect of health education through animated video on BSE knowledge among female students at SMA Negeri 10 Sarolangun in 2024. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study using a one-group pre-test post-test design. The study was conducted in May 2024 among 40 female students at SMA Negeri 10 Sarolangun. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test.The results showed that the average pre-test knowledge score about BSE was 4.625, while the post-test score was 13.625. The bivariate analysis indicated that health education through animated video had a significant effect on BSE knowledge (p = 0.000). It is concluded that health education delivered via animated video significantly influences BSE knowledge among female students at SMA Negeri 10 Sarolangun. Therefore, all parties are encouraged to utilize animated video media to improve BSE knowledge.
