ANALISIS PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU LANSIA TENTANG KANKER OVARIUM DI PUSKESMAS KONIKOTA JAMBI TAHUN 2021

Abstract

Background:Ovarian cancer arises through cells in the ovaries or fallopian tubes that grow
abnormally and multiply and then form a lump or tumor. There are several factors that are at
risk of influencing ovarian cancer, including productive age and increases at pre-menopausal
age, excess body mass index (BMI), women who have never experienced pregnancy and parity,
estrogen hormone therapy, family history of cancer. , a history of gynecological surgery, as well
as the consequences of consuming alcohol and cigarettes. Purpose:The purpose of this study was
to analyze the knowledge and attitudes of elderly mothers about ovarian cancer.Methodes:This
research is descriptive analytic. The accidental sampling technique was used to take the sample
in this study, with a total sample of 44 people. This research was conducted in July 2021 using a
questionnaire as a research instrument and univariate data processing was carried
out.Result:The majority of respondents have good knowledge as many as 4 respondents (9.0%),
sufficient knowledge as many as 18 respondents (41.0%), less knowledge by 22 respondents
(50%). The majority of respondents had a negative attitude as many as 23 respondents (52.2%),
and a minority of respondents had a positive attitude as many as 21 respondents
(47.2%).Conclusion:This study indicate that the number of elderly mothers who have less
knowledge and most of them who have less knowledge have negative attitudes towards ovarian
cancer
